Helen Gebregiorgis
Helen Gebregiorgis (she/her) is a filmmaker and photographer passionate about international development and storytelling. Her lens has captured the essence of everyday life in Eritrea, Egypt, Kenya, and Nigeria. In 2017, she secured funding from the Ford Foundation for a project highlighting the resilience of young professionals and leaders in Lagos, West Africa.
Her photographic work has been exhibited globally, including at the University of East Anglia during Black History Month in 2017 and at the University of California San Diego in 2018. With an MA in Media and International Development from the University of East Anglia and a BA in Film and Video from Columbia College Chicago, Helen now resides in Washington, DC, working as a Communications Organizer for the Washington Interfaith Network, bridging her creative talents with her commitment to storytelling and social justice.
